Chill Day @ Pyoseon Beach
One thing about me is that I love to be drippin in Beaches. Among the many beaches in Jeju, Pyoseon Beach is an underrated gem that locals love to visit the most. Visiting here, I can clearly see why. This scenic beach is located just beside the Jeju Folk Village, so if you are thinking about a convenient beach day after visiting the Folk Village, this beach is for you.
Arriving at the beach, I can clearly see why it is popular among locals. The scenery is gorgeous, it has the backdrop of houses besides the beach feeling like Korean Santorini, while looking the other way, It is the endless ocean view. I stepped onto the beach after taking off my shoes, and the sands are perhaps the smoothest I have ever stepped on. I was very tempted to just start running and imagine a Korean Oppa chasing after me. I am very used to beaches that have very limited sand to beach ratio. However, the sands seemed endless.
Walking a bit further, the waves started to come in and created a huge shallow pool of water. I stepped into it. And it was then, I realized why this place is a hidden gem. The cooling sea water is so clear, I can see my feet in the water. I am also able to walk in the water and not go all the way into the deeper end. This huge mix of soft sand and cooling shallow waters enabled me to have a very slow and relaxing stroll to clear my mind.
The shallow pool of water in the sand sort of created a mirror which is majestic to say the least. With the beautiful scenery, I really felt peace and at the moment.
Pyoseon beach however, is not just perfect for a good stroll by yourself or your loved ones. It is perfect for a good swim and has the perfect wave strength (is this even a thing) for surfing. I spotted quite a number of surfers/swimmers during my quick stroll. The moderately tall waves along with a good reach to the banks make this beach really great for water sports.
If you are looking for a good place to spend a chill relaxing day, feel like you are in a K-drama (or they call it just Drama in Korea). Or surf, swim. 10.10 would recommend Pyoseon Beach.
